Travellers from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, South Korea - and as far a field as Australia - were amongst those on board the 1st July inaugural.

Emirates already carries travellers from the Czech Republic on its flights out of Vienna, Frankfurt and Munich. The new direct service, bringing more convenience and reduced travelling times to passengers, will be served by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, offering 27 seats in Business Class and 251 in Economy.

The airline is currently setting up offices in Prague and establishing teams in sales, finance, airport support and cargo. In all, more than 20 Czechs nationals are being employed. This will take the number of Czechs employed by the Emirates Group to over 100, which includes more than 60 cabin crew, based in Dubai, where they enjoy a tax free salary and a sunny climate all year round.

“The Emirates' flight is the first scheduled all-year-round non-stop service to Dubai. It will enable Czechs to travel directly to the Middle East for the first time, whilst also linking passengers to a range of destinations in the Eastern Hemisphere. Thanks to this unique network of connections, we are expecting a great deal of interest in flights to Dubai, more than 140,000 passengers during 2010,” said Miroslav Dvořák, CEO Prague Airport.

When passengers arrive in Dubai, they will experience Emirates' world leading passenger facility, Terminal 3. Exclusively for the use of the airline's passengers, T3 is light, airy and has taken air travel to a new level of comfort and convenience.
In 1993, trade between the Czech Republic and the UAE stood at just under USD 26 million. In 2008, that figure had shot up to 678 million, according to figures from the Czech Foreign Ministry. A number of Czech companies have offices in the UAE.
Nearly 30% of exports to the UAE are glass products including the Czech produced and world-renowned Bohemian glass.

Trade between the Czech Republic and the UAE has leapt from under USD 26 million (AED 95 million) in 1993 to USD 678 million (AED 2.4 billion) in 2008, according to the Czech Foreign Ministry. Nearly 30% of exports to the UAE are glass products including Czech-made Bohemian glass.

transavia.com winter schedule ticket sales

transavia.com starts ticket sales for the 2011/2012 winter season. The airline will expand its business by 35%, mainly by adding more city trip destinations like Madrid, Vienna, Prague, Milan, Lisbon and Athens. And also by expanding its winter sports programme, by flying to new destination Zurich from Eindhoven Airport and by introducing new routes to Innsbruck and Salzburg from Groningen Airport.

The winter schedule starts on 1 November 2011 and will end after 9 April 2012. By starting ticket sales as early as April, transavia.com meets customer needs for early winter holiday bookings.

By expanding its network and increasing the number of flights from regional airports, transavia.com continues its strategy of growth. Last season, winter sports bookings were already very successful with a substantial increase of almost 50%. With these new winter sports destinations and routes, transavia.com will, again, meet the growing demand for short ski breaks. The airline will increase the number of flights from Rotterdam by 30%, will double its number of flights from Eindhoven Airport and will also operate flights from Groningen Airport to Innsbruck and Salzburg. The six new destinations that transavia.com started operating this month, will remain bookable all year. This meets the growing demand for short trips to sunny destinations and city trips.

Our repositioning makes our product more transparent and it allows customers to better see exactly what they purchase. Ticket prices have been divided into basic product rates and rates for the additional services customers may choose. Our customers always enjoy the benefits of the largest number and the most enjoyable destinations, honest rates, easy ‘search and book’, knowing exactly what they are going to get, and service with a smile. For this, at transavia.com, we work 24/7 with enthousiasm and dedication.

new flights from Prague to Baku

AZAL Airlines Initiates a New Link from Prague to Baku
At present the Azerbaijani national carrier occupies a leading position among the former Soviet states. In terms of aircraft numbers, it is one of the leading carriers both in the region and in the CIS countries. AZAL's primary objective is to extend its flights into Europe and to shore up its position as one of the largest airlines in Eastern Europe. The company is known for the high levels of service and safety of its flights.

Baku – Prague - Baku J2 109/110 (local time)
Flight Number Days of Flight Departure time from Baku Arrival time to Prague Aircraft type
J2 109 Thursday 08.15 09.45 А-319
Arrival time to Baku
J2 110 Thursday 12.10 19.05 А-319

Collaboration between Prague Airport and AZAL not only opens a scheduled connection between the two countries, but also opens a major aviation thoroughfare between the Caucasus region, Europe and the world. The new link to the Azerbaijani capital is important for the development of tourism and trade between the two countries.

In addition to AZAL, Prague Airport and the Azerbaijan Embassy in Prague, TERMA TRAVEL, one of the leading incoming tour operators, contributed significantly to establishing the Prague – Baku connection. The head of TERMA TRAVEL, Fakhraddin Mirzoev, who is also a general agent for AZAL, said: "We are extremely pleased to have this connection. It's a great stimulus for increasing the number of tourists from Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic and vice versa. The Czech Republic has a multitude of natural and historical venues of global significance, a rich cultural life and gastronomic traditions. In addition, the Czech Republic is located right in the heart of Europe and forms an excellent starting point for tourists from Azerbaijan for travel throughout Europe."

"We are pleased that after four years, we have to enable to reinitiate direct regular flights between Baku and Prague," said Stanislav Zeman, Executive Director of Prague Airport for Air Commerce, Marketing and Product Management, adding: "We also believe this will be a successful connection because in 2009, when there were no direct scheduled flights between Prague and Baku, there were 9000 passengers flying the route. These passengers were forced to transfer in Istanbul, Vienna or Moscow. That's why Baku was top among destinations in the former Soviet Union for us. Preliminary indications of passenger interest suggest that the frequency of the connection will be increased in the near future."

An opening ceremony for the Baku – Prague route and a meeting of airline representatives with Azerbaijani and Czech media took place in the Club Continental VIP Lounge at Prague Airport.

About Prague Airport:

flights Newcastle to Czech Republic

Jet2.com launched low cost flights from Czech Republic to Newcastle,Flights begin 5th November 2010 and operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays – perfect for a short break in the UK. Fares start from just 1005CZK one way including tax. Seats are on sale now.

Prague Airport received the Award for Best Airport in Eastern Europe in the World Airport Awards. During the 2009/2010 summer season, passengers will have access to 50 airlines connecting Prague directly with 131 destinations around the globe.

This new route will provide the people of Prague and the surrounding areas direct access to the fabulous lively city of Newcastle and the beautiful surrounding countryside of North East England. Likewise, the people from these areas will have the opportunity to fly directly to the ever popular city break destination of Prague and the vicinity.

The Chief Executive of Jet2.com, Philip Meeson, said, “We are thrilled to launch this direct service between Prague and the exciting city of Newcastle. The launch of this service continues our route expansion from Prague airport. I am sure this will be a very popular route for our passengers in Newcastle and it also offers passengers from Prague an efficient and award-winning service with friendly low fares. “With flights starting from only 1005CZK one way including taxes, there really is no excuse not to make the journey from Prague and to experience a fantastic part of the UK.”
The expansion of Jet2.com in Prague has been equally welcomed by Stanislav Zeman, Executive Director, Aviation Business and Marketing of Prague Airport who said "We are delighted that Jet2.com have announced a fourth route from Prague airport to Newcastle and look forward to continuing the good relationship we have built up over the last few years".

Newcastle is an exciting and dynamic city which has undergone a huge transformation in recent years to become a favourite city break destination. It was also recently voted England’s friendliest city! Situated on the banks of the river Tyne the city is famous for its many bridges. It has stunning modern architecture as well as historic buildings, fantastic shopping, (including the largest shopping centre in Europe) and a lively nightlife and cultural scene. The countryside near Newcastle is stunning – follow the coastal trail to see the many castles of Northumberland – maybe stopping off to visit Alnwick castle, the castle used as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.
Also in the region is the amazing attraction of Hadrians’s wall – the wall built by the Romans in AD122 across the whole width of Northern England to mark and defend their territory. This World Heritage site is one of the most visited attractions in the North of England.

Jet2.com also flies from Prague to the UK cities of Edinburgh, Manchester and Leeds year round.

Prague Airport Self Check-In Kiosks

Prague Airport Self Check-In allows for rapid, simple, straightforward check-in, making for a better use of time at Prague airport. Comfort self check-in is available in several languages, including English and Chinese. The self check-in process also offers supplementary services such as additional seating changes, the printing of a flight itinerary and return-flight check-in for one-day trips in which the return flight is within 24 hours of departure. The new kiosks feature a lowered touchscreen which makes them fully accessible to passengers who are wheelchair-bound, as well.

Almost 667,000 passengers on scheduled flights, 13% of the total passenger count departing from Prague last year, made use of the 25 self check-in kiosks in both terminals of Prague Airport. Passengers of Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines were the greatest users of the self check-in kiosks last year at 55%, with passengers of Czech Airlines, Air France and KLM next with a 45% usage rate. January data for this year shows use of the kiosks continues to grow. 61% of Czech Airlines passengers, for example, used the kiosks on departure from Prague. The latest generation CUSS S3 kiosks have been in service at Prague Airport since the end of November 2009 and may presently be used by passengers flying with the following airlines: Czech Airlines, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Finnair and Iberia. Prague Airport is thus keeping pace with the global trend toward increasing passenger check-in capacity without additional investment.

The self check-in kiosks saw the most use between the hours of 8 AM-11 AM and then again between 3 PM-6 PM.

All passengers of the airlines noted above with an electronic ticket may use the CUSS S3 kiosks. If the self check-in kiosks may not be used for a particular flight, the passenger is notified that it will be necessary to use assisted check-in at the counter.

An instructional video on the upper monitor of the self check-in kiosk instructs passengers in its successful use. Trained personnel are ready to help passengers with any difficulties they may encounter.

This summer season,one-day city trip to Brussels or Prague is getting extremely easy. in cooperation with Prague Airport, Brussels Airlines significantly enhances its flight offer out of the Czech Republic, by adding one early morning frequency between Prague and Brussels and by operating some of these routes with bigger aircraft.

“On a daily basis Brussels Airlines will offer more than 800 seats between the Czech capital and Brussels. Flights are operated with a mixture of Airbus A 319 and AVRO Regional Jet aircraft. Prague Airport, an important destination within the European network

With four daily flights out of Prague Airport and additional capacity by implementing bigger aircraft, Brussels Airlines further strengthens its position in the important Czech market and offers even more comfort and flexibility to its customers

Furthermore, the new frequency provides the passengers leaving Prague with access to an increased number of connecting flights via Brussels of more than 60 destinations within the Brussels Airlines network. Together with its Star Alliance partners, the Belgian airline even offers a total of 200 worldwide destinations out of theEuropean capital.

Czech market”, adds Dechamps. “Brussels Airlines is an important partner of Prague Airport. Last year alone, almost 100,000 passengers flew the Prague-Brussels route and greater frequency for the connection will mean a substantial increase in numbers. Passengers will also obtain better transfer options for trips both within Europe and to Africa and North America, as well,“ adds Stanislav Zeman, Executive Director for Aviation Business, Marketing and Product Management of Prague Airport.

Frequency increases

Brussels Airlines increases its frequencies to numerous destinations. For example, as from the start of the summer season, there will be two daily flights between Brussels and the Greek capital Athens. The flight offer to Bilbao will be substantially increased through a third daily flight. During the holiday months more flights will be offered to the holiday destinations Malaga (Costa del Sol), Palma (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) and Faro (Algarve). The weekend offer to cities like Florence, Lyon and Madrid will be expanded and the timetable to Marseille and Venice is improved to offer even more flexibility to the customers. During the summer season, regional AVRO jets will be replaced by larger Airbus A 319 / A 320 on a number of routes, for example Tel Aviv, Geneva, Berlin, Gothenburg, Vienna, Milan Malpensa, Paris CDG, Malaga and Copenhagen. The increase of the seat capacity (+10 pct compared to 2010) and flight frequencies is an important investment of Brussels Airlines in its homebase at Brussels Airport.

Fleet

The fleet is rejuvenated by the replacement of 5 AVRO RJ regional Jets by 4 larger Airbus A 319 and 2 Airbus A 320 aircraft. On the routes to Bristol and Newcastle Brussels Airlines leases aircraft capacity from partner British Midland International – BMI Regional (Embraer ER4 Jets) whilst flights to Hanover are operated by partner Tyrolean (Dash DH4).

Brussels Airlines is the Belgian airline that offers the widest choice of flights to and from its base in Brussels Airport.

The group has around 3000 employees and 46 aircraft that operate some 300 punctual flights daily, connecting the Capital of Europe to some 70 premium European and African airports. On its European routes, operated with AVRO, Boeing 737, and Airbus A319, Brussels Airlines offers the choice of a premium service at a very high level (“b.business”), an ultra-flexible product, which offers time-saving and comfort at reasonable prices (“b.flex economy+”) and a low fare product (“b.light economy”). On medium- and long-haul flights, the airline operates traditional business or economy class. Long-haul flights are operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft. In addition to 20 destinations in Africa, Brussels Airlines and its intercontinental partners also offer long-haul service to the United Arab Emirates, China, Thailand, India and North America. Brussels Airlines is owned by SN Airholding and is backed up by more than 80 years of aviation experience in Belgium. In June 2009, Lufthansa announced its interest in the management structure and capital of the Belgian airline. Brussels Airlines has been a member of the global airline alliance Star Alliance since 9 December 2009. More information on www.brusselsairlines.com

transavia Prague to Rotterdam flights

The leading Dutch low-cost airline transavia.com started nonstop flights from Prague to Rotterdam/The Hague on 21 April. The company offers this route as the only carrier, even four times per week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. One-way tickets start at CZK 850. You can book your flight at www.transavia.com. Time to fly to the blooming kingdom!

“It's the first time, Prague is connected to a direct scheduled service to the city of Rotterdam. We believe that this new combination will further increase the number of passengers between the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. Already now they are flying between Prague and the Netherlands about 270 000 per year, "said to the opening of regular flights between Prague and Rotterdam Stanislav Zeman, Executive Director, Aviation Business and Marketing, Letiste Praha.

Willem Hondius, Commercial Director transavia.com: ”We are very happy with Prague as one of the six new destinations in our summer schedule. We start the Prague operation because of our strategy to introduce more city trip destinations, beside our holiday and winter sports destinations, as we see a growing market in city trips. We fly Prague from Rotterdam/The Hague Airport to extent the number of destinations from the Dutch regional airports. transavia.com will offer this destination for a fare and attractive price with the service and attention we are appreciated for.”

Rotterdam, the second largest Dutch city and the largest European seaport, is very young and dynamic indeed. It is famous for its modern architecture, design and ubiquitous creativity. During the day it is the cradle of festivals and performances, while at night it pulsates with life that is impossible to forget. The city landscape is constantly changing – traditional architecture of cubic homes called "cubicles" or high-rise buildings such as Montevideo in Kop van Suid and the non-symmetrical Erasmusbrug bridge are evidence of the dynamic character of this harbour city. A sweet end of a visit to Rotterdam is beyond doubt a cruise through the port and view of the city from the sea.

transavia.com is a Dutch low-cost airline. It is an independent subsidiary belonging to the Air France-KLM group. transavia.com has home-basis in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Paris, Lyon and Nantes. The key value of the company is transparency: with transavia.com no additional or hidden fees apply. Find more at www.transavia.com and www.rotterdam.info.

which is more convenient airport in tokyo

The new International Terminal at Haneda Airport opened on Oct 21st, 2010.
With the opening, ANA shifted its international operation from the current terminal. When accessing from central Tokyo by Tokyo Monorail or Keihin Kyuko Railways, be careful to get off at the New Terminal station.

Haneda is the most convenient airport serving Tokyo for customers traveling to or from the city center. With almost 70 million annual passengers, it is one of the busiest airports in Asia, and the fourth busiest airport in the world. It is also Japan's main hub for domestic flights, providing the widest range of options for connections to and from cities throughout the country. With the New York – Haneda service, American will be the only airline to serve both tokyo Narita and Haneda Airports from New York, while the oneworld® alliance will have more flights between the U.S. and Haneda than any other alliance.
In addition to its new service to tokyo Haneda, American will continue to provide service to Tokyo's Narita Airport from New York-JFK, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth. These American Airlines cornerstone markets are also some of the most traveled U.S. – Japan markets. Passengers traveling to or from one of these AA cornerstone markets represent approximately 43% of the Continental U.S. – Tokyo traffic.*
Tokyo-Haneda is preferred by many business travelers because of its proximity to central Tokyo.

"Our new nonstop service to Haneda Airport in Tokyo is a natural addition to our industry-leading Asia service, which continues to grow," said Vinay Dube, Delta's senior vice president – Asia-Pacific. "Delta flights to conveniently located Haneda complement our hub at Tokyo-Narita, and underscore our ongoing investment in the region."

Haneda is now open to trans-Pacific flights this year for the first time in three decades, after being limited primarily to domestic Japan service. The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded Delta two of the four routes available for U.S. carriers between the U.S. and Haneda.

flights from Abu Dhabi to Khartoum on Etihad

Etihad Airways add fifth weekly flight between Abu Dhabi and Khartoum.
The airline commenced operations to the capital of Sudan in July 2006, and since then has carried more than 200,000 travellers and nearly 6.5 million tons of cargo on the route.

Etihad offers seamless connections to many popular onward GCC destinations and a choice of Asian destinations such as Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Manila, the Indian Subcontinent, Europe and Sydney in Australia.

Etihad currently operates a two cabin Airbus A320-200 aircraft between Abu Dhabi and Khartoum, configured to carry 136 passengers – 16 in Pearl business and 120 in Coral economy.

James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, said: “Etihad is experiencing a period of rapid expansion with the launch of many exciting new destinations and the arrival of new aircraft. Our services to Khartoum have exceeded our expectations over the past five years, and we are pleased to be able to build on this success with an additional flight. Khartoum is a special destination for us due to the established cultural and commercial ties between Sudan and the UAE.”

Etihad Crystal Cargo has been successfully operating freighter flights to Khartoum for more than six years. Currently cargo freighter operations between Abu Dhabi and Khartoum offer a payload of up to 46 tonnes on each flight, three times a week.

“Cargo services have been extremely successful, with the capacity being well utilized. We look forward to building on these high payloads and gaining new customers,” added Mr. Hogan.

The 19 staff members based in Etihad’s Khartoum office work in sales, finance and operations, offering a wide variety of services including reservations and ticketing, visas to UAE, hotels and holidays packages and a dedicated corporate team.

Mohamed ElNoman, Etihad’s Country Manager for Sudan, said: "Etihad has enjoyed consistently high load factors across all cabins since the launch of services between Khartoum and Abu Dhabi in 2006 and we are very proud of that success. The additional weekly flight will open new horizons for our commercial activities in the Sudan and will offer our customers more flexibility in their travel to Abu Dhabi and onto the airline’s worldwide network. As well, the recently announced operations to Chengdu and Shanghai in China will add extra value for our clients from Sudan. ”

Etihad add Abu Dhabi to Erbil Iraq flights

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will double its flights from Abu Dhabi to Erbil Iraq at the beginning of September.
Etihad commenced two-class Airbus A320 operations to Erbil in June 2010, and the load factor on the route surpassed 80 per cent by May 2011. This additional capacity is aimed at meeting continuing high demand on Etihad’s Erbil flights.

The current twice-weekly service will increase to four services per week, complementing Etihad’s daily operation to its other Iraqi destination, Baghdad.
James Hogan, Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are committed to building and strengthening ties in our region. With these additional flights, Etihad will offer air travellers from around the world significantly improved connection opportunities through our Abu Dhabi hub as we continue to add breadth and depth through additional frequencies on key routes across our expanding global network. We expect to see continuing strong demand on these routes, particularly from government and business travellers, as well as people from Iraq visiting family and friends around the world.”

Etihad recently commenced its cargo operations to Erbil, supplementing cargo flights to Baghdad which began in September 2008.

Etihad Airways increased the frequency of its flights to a number of key destinations within the GCC, Europe, Indian sub-continent, Africa and the Asia Pacific region at the beginning of the year.

The opening of this lounge marks another stage in the development of that relationship.”

American Eagle New North Terminal of Miami Airport

American Eagle Airlines opens new location in the North Terminal of Miami International Airport (MIA).

A state-of-the-art facility housing both American and American Eagle, the new terminal offers customers improved check-in and domestic baggage claim, with an array of shops and restaurants featuring the flavors of South Florida. American Eagle has completed the initial phase of its transition to new departure areas at gates D53, D55 and D60.

The move comes just in time for American Eagle's enhanced winter schedule, offering increased daily flights to twelve cities, including two new daily nonstops to Gainesville, Fla. on October 1 and two daily nonstops to Cleveland, Ohio, beginning November 18.

American Eagle currently flies from Miami to more than 30 cities throughout the U.S. and Caribbean.

"We are all excited about our American Eagle facility," said Peter J. Dolara, American's Senior Vice President based in Miami. "This facility will allow us to better serve our customers and solidify Miami as one of the premier gateways in the country."

The new departure lounge features two concourse-level gates with jetbridges for convenient boarding. When the next phase of construction is complete, lower-level gates will eliminate the need for most shuttle buses to take passengers to awaiting aircraft. A new Skytrain is expected to open in September that will whisk thousands of customers per hour along the 1.4 mile North Terminal concourse, enabling easy connections to American Airlines flights."We are excited to move into this beautiful new facility," said Pedro Fabregas, President of American Eagle's operations in Miami and the Caribbean. "The new terminal will not only offer our customers a much more comfortable and enjoyable travel experience, but will provide convenient connections to cities throughout the American Airlines global network."

aa Asia Office move to Tokyo JAL headquarters

American Airlines today announced it will move its Asia-Pacific Regional Office to the JAL Building, the headquarters of Japan Airlines (JAL), in the Shinagawa district of Tokyo. American plans to complete the move from its current office in Uchisaiwaicho by January 2011.

"With American's proposed Pacific joint business with JAL anticipated to receive government approval by the end of this year, co-locating our offices with those of JAL will be beneficial and enable us to forge closer working relationships with our valued partner," Panagiotoulias added. "We have been working closely so that we will be able to implement our joint business as quickly as possible after government approvals are received. We have also been discussing with JAL best practices in areas such as fuel hedging and aircraft management, all in an effort to lower our costs and improve the efficiency of the services we offer our customers."

"With the lease on our current Tokyo office location due to expire in December 2010 we have been reviewing opportunities to relocate our regional office. After completing a comprehensive review of available commercial property in Tokyo, we have identified a mutually beneficial opportunity for American to move into vacant offices on the 25th floor of the Japan Airlines headquarters building," said Theo Panagiotoulias, American's Vice President and Managing Director – Asia-Pacific. "This move will provide us with excellent office space and meeting facilities, while offering convenience and easy access for our employees."

On May 7, 2010, American was awarded the right to fly from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Tokyo International Airport at Haneda (HND) and will begin this new service Jan. 20, 2011. The new flights will complement American's service to Tokyo's Narita International Airport (NRT) and benefit Japan Airlines and other oneworld carriers. American is working with JAL officials for ground handling services at Haneda. The two airlines also are continuing to pursue co-location of facilities at key airports including New York Kennedy, Chicago O'Hare and Los Angeles.

Commenting on the relocation, Tsutomu Ando, Executive Officer of International Affairs at Japan Airlines said: "We warmly welcome American's move of its Asia-Pacific regional offices into the same premises as JAL's headquarters. JAL intends to maximize the effect of our alliance strategy and plans to engage in close collaboration with American Airlines upon obtaining necessary approval from the authorities. As both airlines are endeavoring to work more firmly together on ways to create greater benefits for our customers, there is no better timing than now for our offices to also be close in proximity. We are certainly looking forward to greater communications and a deeper relationship with American."
