A Few Good Men at Duke University; Donations to Soldiers Families

Durham, NC August 21, 2005

The Road Less Traveled Theatre, by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., is proud to present its production of Aaron Sorkin&39;s "A Few Good Men" at Duke University&39;s Page Auditorium for three performances on Sept. 9 and 10, 2005.

Film fans will recall the 1993 production of &39;A Few Good Men&39; with Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise, which was nominated for several awards and was awarded "Movie of The Year" at the MTV Movie Awards in 1984. The RLTT production stars Mitchell W. Butts as Col. Nathan Jessep and Kevin Holmes as Lt. JG Daniel Kaffee as it follows the story of the death of a young solder (Chaninng Elliot as Private William T. Santiago) killed at the hands of two members of his unit (Joey Humbert as Lance Cpl. Harold W. Dawson and Shawn Rhodes as Private First Class Louden Downey), and the investigation which follows. This compelling performance presents both fans and critics of the military with a new and previously unseen look into the code of ethics which exists inside our nation&39;s military, and will provoke thought among all who see it.

The Road Less Traveled Theatre also announces that it will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from the entire production run of &39;A Few Good Men&39; (including previous engagements in Clarksville, VA and Oxford, NC) to the Operation Family Fund, a non-profit organization devoted to providing financial assistance to the families of soldiers slain in Iraq and Afghanistan during the &39;War On Terror.&39; RLTT believes this to be a worthy and deserving cause, regardless of political stance.

The Road Less Traveled Theatre also offers a 20 percent discount to current and former members of the US Armed Forces and their immediate families. A valid military ID is required to qualify for this discount.

Ticket Prices are $14, and senior citizens as well as Duke University Employees and Students may purchase tickets for $12 each. The military discount applies to both prices, but does not apply to the $3 Duke University Box Office Service Charge or to the Duke University Parking Fee ($3 in advance with ticket purchase, $5 at show time).

This show will be performed on Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday Sept. 10 at 8 p.m., with a matinee performance on Saturday Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m. Door open 30 minutes prior to show time.
