Improved service and lower fuel prices for airlines at Roskilde Airport

To date, BP has been the only fuel supplier at Roskilde Airport, which has an aircraft landing or taking off every five minutes - every day - all year around. The new supplier agreement between Shell and Roskilde Airport brings competition on fuel supply and with it lower prices and better service for the airlines.

“With Shell, we will see competition on fuel prices. That is a big advantage for our customers who will now have two suppliers to choose from, and hopefully it will be reflected in the fuel prices, said Lars Lip, Airport Manager at Roskilde Airport.

The supplier agreement comes with an agency agreement as Roskilde Airport will be an agent for Shell and responsible for fuelling aircraft.

Improved fuelling
“We look forward to working with Roskilde Airport and we want to service not only the business segment, but also smaller aircraft owners using Avgas. We are very excited about working with the airport and we are convinced that we will improve fuelling at Roskilde Airport through more competitive prices and improved service for the airlines," said Sjoerd Post, Vice President at Shell Aviation.

Roskilde Airport is mainly used for commercial flights, instruction- and taxi-flights as well as helicopter flights. The largest flyoperators using the airport are Air Alsie, Netjets, North Flying, Excecujet and Silver Cloud.

During the summer, Shell will start construction for a new fuelling facility which is expected to be ready by October. This future-proof facility will help secure robustness in relation to fuel supply.
