emirates airlines launches new European destinations
Emirates has rounded off a series of European route launches by starting flights to Madrid.

EK 141 took off for the airline's 104th destination, creating the only non-stop, scheduled passenger link between Dubai and Spain

Salem Obaidalla, Emirates' Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Europe & Russian Federation, said: "Madrid is our third new European route this year, and together they bring an extra 42 flights per week in and out of the region. The interest in previous years in us starting a service to Spain has certainly been reflected in the strong forward bookings. Now is our chance to bring the superb Emirates' product to the Spanish market."

Amsterdam was Emirates' first new route into Europe in 2010, launching on 1st May. Prague followed on 1st July.

Geneva will be added to the airline's European route network from 1st June 2011. Last night, more than 600 guests from the travel industry and the city's wider business community attended a high profile road show event in Geneva as an introduction to the airline and its home of Dubai.

The Dubai-Geneva service will be operated by a combination of Boeing 777-200LR and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The aircraft will be arranged in a three-class configuration, offering First Class Private Suites, lie-flat seats in Business Class, and a spacious cabin in Economy Class.

emirates airlines will launch non-stop service starts between Dubai and Copenhagen on 1st August 2011, the first time Emirates has launched flights into Scandinavia.

Copenhagen is the airline's 27th European destination and 114th globally. So far in 2011, Emirates has launched flights to Basra and Geneva. After Copenhagen, services to St Petersburg will be launched on 1st November followed by Baghdad on 13th November.
